We read bedtime stories to our kids because we know stories matter. So why do we stop telling them as adults?

In this talk, Will Severns explores why storytelling has never been more essential—especially in an age of AI, social media, and constant noise. Drawing from his work helping over 235 authors and speakers bring their stories to life, Will shares why we've become conditioned to seek strangers' stories before searching for stories beside us—our coworkers, clients, and families.

Attendees will walk away with practical tools to become "storyhunters" and be challenged to share their own stories with the people who need to hear them most.

Will Severns is the co-founder of ShareYourStory.com, a professional storytelling company that helps thought leaders and business owners turn their life experiences into books, keynotes, and thought leadership content. He has guided over 235 authors—many in their 40s, 50s, and 60s—in sharing their hard-earned wisdom with a new generation.

Will is the author of Gouge and The World Needs Your Book, and founder of Tablesetters, a nonprofit helping men find community and become more intentional in business and family. He lives in Overland Park with his wife Lauren, their three kids, and a fourth on the way this July.
